NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Irish modern hymn writers and recording artists Keith & Kristyn Getty are preparing for an international tour and a string of high profile appearances this year, following a groundbreaking 2007 which included performances at The Pentagon and the GMA Dove Awards, in addition to appearing on numerous television and radio broadcasts.
The Gettys’ critically acclaimed stateside debut, In Christ Alone (Gettymusic in association with Martingale Music), released nationally via KOCH Records last year. “Worship Leader” magazine touts the project as “…a hymnal for the modern church… Here are songs that will endure because of their biblical faithfulness and their ability to move beyond a specific church worship style.”
In Christ Alone includes the Gettys’ first Top 5 Inspirational radio hit, “There Is A Higher Throne,” while a newly recorded version of “The Power of the Cross,” produced by Jeremy Bose (Jars of Clay, Plumb), was released to Christian radio formats last week.
Kicking-off an international tour this year, Keith & Kristyn Getty will return to their homeland, Northern Ireland, in April, joining Franklin Graham for a crusade in Belfast. Earlier in the month, the couple is slated to perform at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall with the All Souls Orchestra. The Gettys will also be featured at several conferences in the United Kingdom in 2008, including Word Alive, Keswick and New Horizon.
The couple is scheduled to perform “In Christ Alone” concert events with symphony orchestras in London, Dublin, Belfast, Liverpool, Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh, among other U.K. cities this fall, before traveling to India in November to share the stage with acclaimed author Philip Yancey at five events.
Keith & Kristyn Getty will also make key appearances in the United States throughout the year. They are slated to participate in events in conjunction with the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C.; the Moody Bible Institute Pastor’s Conference; and events sponsored by Focus on the Family. The Gettys will also make an appearance with Anne Graham Lotz this year and will perform at Mount Rushmore on the National Day of Prayer, in addition to continuing to present their modern hymns in churches around the country.
Produced by Keith Getty and John Andrew Schreiner (Fernando Ortega, City On A Hill) In Christ Alone features the Gettys’ renditions of 10 of their best-loved hymns, including “The Power of the Cross” and the title cut, both co-written by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend.
Additionally, The Risen Christ, a newly released Easter musical distributed by LifeWay Worship, features the songs of Keith & Kristyn Getty and Stuart Townend. The debut offering from ClearCall Music, centerpieces of The Risen Christ include “In Christ Alone” and “The Power of the Cross,” as well as the title-cut, which was written by Keith Getty and Phil Madeira.
